SENSE THE NONS

Who is guilty of Post-Althusserian obscurantianist dehistoricisation?

Bentley, R. A. 2006: Academic copying, archaeology and the English language, Antiquity 80 (307), 196-201.

I propose a game: (will be welcoming suggestions for a fitting title, the one here under is a work in progress)
SENSE THE NONS

1 for an MA
2 for a PhD
3: Post-Doc
4: junior lecturer
5: senior do.
6: reader
7: extra-ordinary professor
8: ordinary professor
9: rector
10: master
11: professor emeritus

What do you think?

Hylk, I don't quite understand the game yet. Can you post some rules?

Use of obscure jargon and unwieldy terms is rife in archaeology. So, we COULD tally points for each time we find such an example of bad thinking, OR (and I'm sure you'll agree this is much better) weight each sighting according to how far up the academic totem pole the writer is. Whoever gets the most points is deserving of some kind of consolation prize, as the poor basterd has to actually read those articles and books.

I suppose that the end of the game is some agreed end date. What do you think? Any suggestions are welcome.

Aaaah, epiphany! I like :) Fairy nuff, let's get it on. I suggest a report on the first of each month? A bottle of Chouffe (saved up for the next occasion we meet up) for the monthly winner and a LOMO camera for the yearly hi-score :)
